Volunteering and ActiPlay
Volunteering opportunities provide children with valuable experiences that help them develop confidence, responsibility and a sense of community. By taking part in activities that support others, pupils learn the importance of kindness, teamwork and making a positive contribution to the world around them. Volunteering also helps children to develop essential life and employability skills, such as communication, leadership, problem-solving and resilience. These experiences encourage pupils to become active, responsible citizens while helping them recognise how their actions can make a difference. As part of our ‘Future Me’ programme, volunteering enables children to build character, strengthen their personal development and gain a deeper understanding of the skills and values that will support them throughout their education and future careers.
Pupil-led Volunteering Groups.

Children have the opportunity to become a volunteer as part of our pupil-led volunteering groups.

All children volunteer through becoming Play Makers through out ActiPlay Inclusive Playground Initiative.

Our new Inclusive Playground Initiative ensures that every child has the opportunity to be involved, active and engaged during playtimes. Through the programme, all pupils have the chance to volunteer as Play Makers, taking on leadership roles and helping to create a positive and welcoming environment for their peers. Children can choose from a wide range of activities to suit their interests and needs, including adult-led games, sports activities, quiet spaces for reading and drawing, table tennis, table football and opportunities for self-initiated play. By participating as Play Makers and engaging in a variety of play experiences, pupils develop valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, creativity and empathy. The initiative promotes inclusion, encourages positive relationships and supports children's social, emotional and physical wellbeing, ensuring that every child feels valued, supported and able to enjoy their playtime experience.
